We are a young married couple in our 50's. We would like to adopt a Filipino child (girl or boy) and bring to Australia as we live here. What is the age limit to adopt or is it a case, by case situation and, does it really have to be so expensive to adopt? It deters genuine would-be-parents from adopting because not many would have the $14,000 to $20,000 that's required. Why can't that money be put towards the infants' welfare and future? We would gladly sponsor more children once our adopted child was here with us. #2

Hi, I have a question. What are the laws on adopting a newborn who is not under any type of foster system/orphanage, and who was actually referred to by an acquaintance? For instance, the mother of the child was not able to take care of the child so the friend referred the baby to another friend to ask if they wanted to adopt a child. How does it work? #4
